Sigma 17-40mm F1.8 DC Art (Fuji X)

This constant f/1.8 aperture across the whole zoom range is a game-changer for indoor event work, and the image quality matches what I’d expect from a prime lens.

I’ve been shooting handheld at dusk, and being able to lock in F1.8 from 17mm all the way to 40mm makes low-light work actually usable. The autofocus is snappier than I expected for an Art lens, and the constant aperture handles beautifully with no hunting.

The constant F1.8 aperture across the whole zoom range means I don’t have to adjust exposure when I zoom in on a forest path—a huge time-saver for quick compositions. Tack sharp even at the edges, which surprised me for a wide-angle.
