The linear motor focus is so quiet I double-checked it was working, and the resolution jump from my older zoom is obvious even at f/4.8. Comes in at a weight that makes it my new daily carry.

I was skeptical about upgrading my kit lens, but this one is noticeably sharper across the frame, especially at 50mm. It's also genuinely compact for what it covers, so it's been my default walk-around lens since it arrived.

Took this on a weekend hike and barely noticed it in my bag—the compact build is exactly why I grabbed it. The resolution on the wide end is a clear step up from the old kit lens I used before, and the weather sealing handled a light drizzle without a worry.
