I’ve been using this lens for event work, and the constant f/1.7 aperture from 10mm to 25mm is a game changer in low light. It’s sharp corner to corner even wide open, which surprised me for such a wide zoom.

Shot wide open at f/1.7 on a dim evening walk, the sharpness from center to edge genuinely surprised me. The zoom ring has that damped, precise feel that makes you want to keep turning it. It’s heavy, sure, but that’s the price for this kind of speed across the whole range.

The constant f/1.7 through the whole zoom range is what sold me—I can keep the same exposure settings while stepping back from a close-up to a wider shot without touching the dial. Autofocus is snappy on my body, and the images have that crisp, three-dimensional look I was hoping for.
