Offering an opportunity to experience the fun of shooting wide open, with F1.4 brightness

Mixing a comfortable wide-angle design with an ultra-fast maximum aperture, the 16mm f/1.4 DC DN is part of Sigma's Contemporary series of lenses and is designed for use with Leica L-mount mirrorless cameras. Characterized by its bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, this lens is adept at working in low-light conditions and also affords increased control over depth of field for selective focus control.

Bright prime functionality to experience photography at its best

The optical design makes use of several low dispersion and aspherical elements, which control color fringing and various aberrations in order to provide high sharpness and clarity throughout the aperture range. Individual elements also feature a Super Multi-Layer Coating to suppress flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.

Combining compactness with outstanding optical performance

Benefitting the optical assets, this lens also sports a stepping AF motor for quick, quiet, and smooth focusing performance that suits both still photography as well as video applications. As part of the Contemporary line within Sigma's Global Vision series, this lens is designed to achieve a balance between convenience and performance, and meshes a compact, lightweight build and versatile handling with notable optical attributes.

John ★★★★★

This lens lets me shoot handheld in near darkness with confidence, and the autofocus locks on fast even for moving subjects indoors. The build feels solid but not heavy, so it balances well on my camera, and the wide 16mm view gives a nice creative edge to street shots without too much distortion.

Robert A. ★★★★★

The autofocus locks on quickly even in dim light, which surprised me for such a fast f/1.4 lens. I've been using it for indoor portraits and the bokeh from that wide aperture is smooth and creamy.

Stella O. ★★★★★

Finally, a wide-angle lens that lets me shoot handheld in near darkness—the f/1.4 aperture is incredible. I’ve been using it indoors with no flash, and the sharpness at f/1.4 is surprisingly good. Feels solid on my Z camera, and now I’m having way more fun with low-light street photography.
