I needed to cut a full 10 stops for a long exposure in midday sun, and this filter handled it without any color cast. The smooth rotation between 5.3 and 12 stops lets me dial in exactly the right density without fumbling with stacked NDs.

Dialing in exactly 8 stops for a bright beach scene was dead simple with the hard stop clicks. No color cast that I could see even at the darkest setting, which is exactly what I needed for long exposures.

The 5.3 to 12 stop range gives me way more flexibility than my old fixed ND, and the darkening stays even across the frame at the extreme end. I’ve shot waterfall long exposures in full sun and the color shift is barely noticeable, which is a huge win for a variable filter.
